Trump Made The Statement When He Met With Ukrainian President Zelensky, On The Sidelines Of The United Nations General Assembly, Where The Answer Was Based On The Question Of Whether Nato Should Attack The Planes.
Trump Quickly Replied "Yes, I Think So"
However, When Asked If The United States Would Directly Intervene, He Said It Would Depend On The Circumstances But Stressed That The United States Has A Strong Position Within Nato.
The Statement Comes At A Time When The State Of Alert Has Increased In Europe After Russian Mig-31 Fighter Jets Entered Estonian Airspace, While Last Week They Were Also Reported To Have Entered Polish Airspace, Where Some European Countries Have Already Said It Is Clear That Any Russian Plane Or Drone That Crosses The Border Again Will Be Shot Down.
